space_04
One more piece part of my ongoing space_ series of media art works. This is an audiovisual piece based on ambisonic field recordings and photogrammetry scans acquired at the Crawford Lake Conservation Area in Ontario, Canada.
The works in the series are derived directly from the attentive and phenomenological exploration of a specific geographical/physical location. The majority of the visual and acoustic elements present in these pieces come from processing photogrammetry scans, spatial audio (ambisonic), and still images (textures, HDRI) captured during a period of attentive immersion and observation that I conduct while being physically present at the chosen location. This audiovisual material capture seek to document, in an intuitive way, the textures, lighting, shapes, and sounds of the location. This observation and capture technique follows mindfulness processes of attentive perception and connection with the environment.
This is a performance of the piece done in my studio, where the camera motion and sound spatialization are recorded in real-time. The sound component was derived for processing ambisonic recordings done at the location.
